Chapter 3 "Three Girls"

This chapter is a very sad chapter her and her sister Soraya spend most of their time talking about things they no longer do, they talk about how much they loved parties, weddings, and family reunions where they were free to laugh and dance. She also says that a woman cannot live in their culture without the protection of a man, which to me is a very unjust because in our society their is very many single woman and single mother and so forth that just another of one of those cultures shocks, we know that it's possible to live freely without a man, but they never seen or expierenced that, i think all woman are just as equal as man!!!

In this chapter three girls come knocking to their apartment so Latifa's mom can help them, these three girls' father had died so they had no one to go with them when they needed to leave their house, they were rapped by fifteen men and they mutilated their genitals basicly tore them! Latifa's mom called a very good friend of hers thats a doctor because they would need surgery to sew them together. How much hate and guts does a person have to do something like this to a 15 year old girl? this makes me angry inside because no 15 year old girl deserves this nor any lady or woman.. this is ridiculous!!! this makes me question if these guys had a little human in them?
